About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development to join our team at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dentistry. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in advancing the school's mission and goals through strategic fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive major gifts program to support the school's academic priorities and research initiatives.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects and donors to secure significant funding for the school's programs and initiatives.
  • Work closely with faculty, staff, and alumni to build relationships and secure support for the school's fundraising goals.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the school's academic priorities, research initiatives, and fundraising goals to inform strategic fundraising efforts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the university to leverage resources and expertise to support fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and implement effective stewardship and recognition strategies to cultivate and retain major donors.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in major gifts fundraising and apply this knowledge to inform and improve fundraising efforts.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of experience in major gifts fundraising or a related field.
  • Proven track record of securing major gifts and developing successful fundraising strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with faculty, staff, alumni, and donors.
  • Strong understanding of the principles and practices of fundraising in a university setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of applications and other relevant software.
