Liturgical Music Director

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Liturgical Music Director to join our team at Saint Mary's College of California. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing liturgical music oversight for weekly and special masses, as well as periodic prayer services during the academic year.

• Develop and support student leader cantors and musicians professionally and musically
• Manage the rotating cantors and musicians to create a seamless liturgical musical program
• Oversee liturgical music student leaders, including leading weekly meetings, collaborating with student leaders to select music, and developing students as leaders and professionals
• Direct the Liturgical Choir, including leading all student-led liturgies and prayer services, weekly practices, and practices held immediately before liturgies and prayer services
• Attend weekly "Liturgy Team" meeting (if needed, remotely)
• Ensure music is prepared and accessible for all choir members
• Assist in keeping all music organized and up-to-date
• Meet with direct supervisor on a regular basis
• Report all music used for licensing purposes
• Ensure that all music for each liturgy and prayer service is placed into the appropriate worship aid and script
• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

• Must have a proven previous record of being an engaging liturgical cantor and accompanist (piano preferred)
• Must have extensive knowledge of Liturgical Music
• Must be flexible, communicative, self-driven, and creative
• Must have experience and knowledge of Google Workspace and OneLicense (or other reporting tool)

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $35 per hour.
