We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radioactive materials.
Key Responsibilities- Proficiently perform basic to advanced nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including therapy, QMP, PET/CT, and nuclear pharmacist backup.
- Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information, including patient history, lab results, and physician orders.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and procedural adjunctive medication by proper route per clinician prescription and according to approved exam parameters.
- Competently perform venipuncture and placement of peripheral IV catheters for medication administration.
- Relay pertinent patient history information to appropriate staff and departments.
- Post-process images as directed and accurately identify and label images.
- Maintain accurate records of pharmaceutical doses and patient information.
- Nuclear Medicine Tech (N) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT) issued by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Nuclear Medicine.
- Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Nuclear Medicine Technologist role.
This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids.
