Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct physical exams, assess health status, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, and treat illnesses and conditions, including giving injections and suturing wounds.
  • Consult with physicians as needed and refer to physicians for more complicated medical cases or those not within the scope of your practice.
  • Monitor therapies and provide continuity of care.
  • Triage patient calls and evaluate patient problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program.
  • Four years of healthcare experience prior to applying to the PA program.
  • One year of experience as a PA, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • National PA-C certification.
