POSITION SUMMARY

Title: Security Architect - Contractor

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a knowledgeable Security Architect with a strong background in NERC compliance. This role involves the design, evaluation, and implementation of security frameworks aimed at safeguarding critical infrastructure. The successful candidate will collaborate with project teams to develop robust security architectures that protect our substations and solar facilities while ensuring seamless integration with corporate systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Design and Implementation: Create and execute security architectures for IT initiatives, ensuring they meet NERC standards and align with organizational objectives.

2. Firewall Management: Develop, configure, and make strategic decisions regarding firewall solutions to secure network perimeters and facilitate safe data transmission.

3. Interface Security: Establish security protocols for connections between external systems and the corporate network to guarantee secure integration and data transfer.

4. Collaboration: Partner with IT and security teams to design, implement, and oversee security measures.

Project Assignments and Security Evaluations:

  • The contractor will be responsible for creating a comprehensive list of security requirements and developing a checklist for each new project to identify impacted areas.

Utilization of the Spreadsheet:

  • Attend the Architecture Review Board to identify projects requiring verification through the developed checklist.
  • Collaborate with project teams and other architects to find technical solutions for any compliance challenges.

Security Risk Assessment:

  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Risk team to obtain insights from their risk assessments for high-risk projects.
  • Work alongside project teams and architects to mitigate risks through architectural changes and technological enhancements.

Engage in the design of firewall and security controls for substations, working closely on this ongoing initiative.
