Crawford Memorial Hospital is seeking an Account Representative I to join our Business Office team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while performing a variety of clerical duties related to receiving, verifying, processing, and recording insurance and patient payments.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on experience and location.

Job Summary:

  • Billing and Insurance Claims: Ensure insurance claims are billed through the billing system after appropriately coded; review billing system errors and fix prior to sending claims; set up secondary claims to bill or notify appropriate biller for billing.
  • Patient Payments: Determine appropriate payment plan option(s) requested by patient based on income level; demonstrate good judgment on patient's reported income level in determining if more documentation is necessary and collect required documentation as needed.
  • Accurate Data Entry: Accurately post insurance payments; bill self-pay balances; set up self-pay balance to go to agency per policy if no payment plan is set up; review and resolve billing conflicts with agency.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma / Equivalent Required
  • Experience: Office / Clerical setting minimum 1 year Preferred, Healthcare Insurance / Billing minimum 1 year Preferred
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook
