Job Title: Carpentry/Industry Course Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Carpentry/Industry Course Instructor to deliver hands-on instruction and training to students in a positive and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Carpentry and construction, with experience in curriculum development and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver student-centered instruction and training in Carpentry and construction
  • Assist in identifying and incorporating industry trends and best practices into curriculum
  • Communicate progress and provide feedback to students in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with the Facilities team to coordinate classroom upgrades and maintenance
  • Participate in instructor development activities and contribute to the growth and development of fellow instructors

Requirements:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulations and standards associated with Carpentry and construction
  • Expert knowledge of Carpentry-related materials and power tools
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Carpentry and/or construction
  • Prior teaching experience with students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with students from various linguistic and cultural backgrounds

Working Conditions:

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, climbing, and balancing for up to 1/3 of the time, with the majority of the time spent sitting and using hands. The work environment is moderate noise and requires working near moving or mechanical parts.
