Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation: Prepare and serve high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and dietary needs.
- Food Safety: Follow daily production sheets using outlined standards, accurate portioning, and correct temperature to ensure food safety.
- Quality Control: Taste all prepared food items to confirm correct flavoring and ensures attractive presentation.
- Service: Serve meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature, and is attractive and tasty.
- Cleanliness: Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Inventory Management: Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures.
- Maintenance: Keep refrigerators, freezers, and storerooms clean and neat.
- Supply Management: Ensure food and supply items are stored and labeled per standards.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
- Labeling and Storage: Label, date, and properly store all food items.
- Reporting: Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
- Training and Development: Attend in-service and safety meetings.
- HACCP Compliance: Follow HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
- Regulatory Compliance: Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
- Interpersonal Skills: Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, residents, and guests.
- Job Safety: Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- Culture and Customer Service: Demonstrate the Sun Health Vibrant Living culture and provides all customers/audience with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating Sun Health behaviors (the 6 Cs) each and every day.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Cooking Skills: Understanding of the following cooking methods: sauté, grill, sear, pan fry, poach, braise, steam, blanch, broil, roast, and meat and seafood fabrication.
- Knife Handling: Safe knife handling.
- Experience: Prior commercial kitchen experience required.
- Certifications: Able to complete ServSafe Certification.
- Food Handlers Card: Must have Maricopa County Food Handlers Card.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card: Possess current or has the ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
