Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant

Millennium Physician Group

Full Time (Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4:30PM)

Location: Port Charlotte, FL

Millennium Physician Group is actively seeking a dedicated full-time Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant to enhance our Physical Therapy department. We are in search of a motivated individual who is enthusiastic, organized, capable of managing multiple tasks, and possesses innovative thinking skills. Our priority is to ensure an outstanding experience for our patients.


The Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant is responsible for delivering Physical Therapy interventions, utilizing various modalities and techniques for patient care. This role includes educating patients and their families on suitable home exercise programs. The assistant will maintain ongoing communication with the Physical Therapist regarding patient progress and any significant changes in condition, ensuring immediate reporting of any adverse reactions. Confidentiality and patient privacy are paramount, and adherence to HIPAA regulations is required. Compliance with the policies and procedures of Millennium Physician Group, as well as the ethical standards set forth by the American Physical Therapy Association and the Florida State Practice Act, is essential. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Physicians and other healthcare professionals as necessary.
  • Document daily treatment sessions using S.O.A.P. format to meet organizational, state, and national standards.
  • Complete patient encounter forms for each visit.
  • Follow established Physical Therapy protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure a clean and well-equipped workspace, including sanitizing tools and replenishing supplies.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as billing, scheduling, and communication during non-treatment hours.
  • Uphold each patient's right to confidentiality.

Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a valid license in Florida. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
