About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician to join our service team at Swickard Auto Group. As a critical component of our operation, the Diesel Technician plays an indispensable role in ensuring the smooth running of our business and the satisfaction of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, transmission flushes, air conditioner re-charges, front-end alignments, battery installations, and headlight and taillight installations.
  • Conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customers' problems and provide accurate repair recommendations.
  • Inspect vehicles according to the state's requirements for emissions and safety.
  • Conduct necessary repairs and take vehicles for test drives to verify the soundness.
  • Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records.
  • Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
  • Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency and accordance with manufacturer/dealership standards.
  • Inspect vehicles and record findings.
  • Explain vehicle diagnoses and required repairs to service advisors.
  • Keep current with new technical information and technology by attending required/recommended manufacturer training.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of prior diesel diagnostic, and repair experience required.
  • A team player who is focused on providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
  • Possess a valid in-state driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
