Weekend Counselor

The Counselor IV provides treatment and support to assist clients in their recovery from addictions, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, eating disorders, or other behavioral problems. This role requires a strong understanding of the recovery process and the ability to work with clients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

• Participate in client treatment planning and continuum of care.
• Conduct group and/or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and document as required.
• Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions and assist with modifying problem behaviors.
• Responsible for initial assessments, as well as follow-up assessments for clients.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each assigned client.
• Ensure all documentation regarding client care, treatment, and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.
• Act as a liaison between referral sources and clients.
• Provide crisis intervention to clients, as needed.
• Plan for aftercare for assigned clients.
• Act as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested.
• Provide case management duties for clients, ensuring individualized quality care.
• Evaluate the need of the client and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed.
• Provide client and family education relative to substance abuse/psychiatric problems.
• Conduct educational workshops both within the Facility and in the community, as required.
• Serve as a liaison with self-help groups and EAP professionals.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the Facility treatment programs.
• Assist in the training of new clinical staff and interns, providing direction and clinical guidance.
• Coordinate the activities of other clinical and direct client care staff, providing direction and clinical guidance.
