About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist-Genetics to join our team in a clinical and research laboratory setting. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will perform DNA/Molecular genetic testing using scientific principles, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform DNA/Molecular genetic testing in a clinical and research laboratory
  • Utilize scientific principles, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills for day-to-day laboratory operations
  • Ensure quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance, and corrective action
  • Correlate test results and participate in continuing education related to clinical laboratory operations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, biological science, molecular biology, or a related field from a regionally accredited college/university
  • Experience/training in modern molecular genetic techniques in a clinical and/or research molecular laboratory preferred
  • Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Molecular Biology (MB) from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent agency required within 18 months of hire
