Recreation Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at Universal Health Services. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic interventions to improve the daily functioning of our patients.

This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a strong understanding of therapeutic recreation principles and practices. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and other stakeholders.

• Plan and implement therapeutic recreation programs for patients, including physical fitness, creative expression, and leisure activities.
• Administer therapeutic recreational assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Document patient progress and provide regular updates to the treatment team.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families on healthy lifestyle choices and coping strategies.

• Bachelor's degree in a health services-related field, with a focus on recreation and leisure preferred.
• CTRS certification preferred, but not required.
• Experience working in mental health settings, with a focus on therapeutic recreation, is highly desirable.
