Position Overview: COBOL Developer

Essential Qualifications:

  • Possession of a programming certificate or an associate degree; a bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred.
  • Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience without a degree will be considered.
  • A master's degree with at least 4 years of pertinent experience is also acceptable.

Technical Expertise Required:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cat mainframe environment, particularly with GIS Cluster C/A focusing on COBOL development.
  • At least 3 years of experience in SQL and DB2 programming on mainframe systems.
  • 3+ years of experience in IMS or CICS development.
  • Experience of 2+ years with debugging tools such as Xpeditor and Abend-Aid.
  • 2+ years of experience collaborating with end-users on IT requirements and testing processes.
  • Familiarity with FSA/SOX Controls is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on existing mainframe applications and document findings through flow charts.
  • Enhance and optimize current applications.
  • Create custom, one-time-use programs for data adjustments.
  • Document evidence of changes to ensure compliance with FSA/SOX regulations.
