Position Overview: COBOL Developer
Essential Qualifications:
- Possession of a programming certificate or an associate degree; a bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred.
- Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience without a degree will be considered.
- A master's degree with at least 4 years of pertinent experience is also acceptable.
Technical Expertise Required:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cat mainframe environment, particularly with GIS Cluster C/A focusing on COBOL development.
- At least 3 years of experience in SQL and DB2 programming on mainframe systems.
- 3+ years of experience in IMS or CICS development.
- Experience of 2+ years with debugging tools such as Xpeditor and Abend-Aid.
- 2+ years of experience collaborating with end-users on IT requirements and testing processes.
- Familiarity with FSA/SOX Controls is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on existing mainframe applications and document findings through flow charts.
- Enhance and optimize current applications.
- Create custom, one-time-use programs for data adjustments.
- Document evidence of changes to ensure compliance with FSA/SOX regulations.
