Position Overview:
As a vital member of our team, you will conduct thorough diagnostic ultrasound imaging examinations in line with established protocols and guidelines under the supervision of a perinatologist. Your role will encompass high-risk obstetrical assessments, including but not limited to: comprehensive ultrasound examinations, nuchal translucency assessments, fetal echocardiograms, and Doppler evaluations of various arteries. You will also perform ultrasound-guided invasive procedures, such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling, essential in Maternal-Fetal Medicine settings. Your ability to work independently and collaboratively, along with excellent communication skills, is crucial. Adherence to hospital and departmental policies is expected, and you will be responsible for patient care across adolescent and adult age groups.

Key Responsibilities:
* Patient Care: Execute ultrasound techniques and examinations, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, and minor surgical procedures.
* Patient Management: Ensure comfortable positioning and transfer of patients.
* Equipment Operation: Select and operate ultrasound equipment, adjusting technical factors based on individual patient assessments.
* Data Collection: Gather patient history and clinical data to correlate with sonographic findings; maintain accurate records of examination data.
* Scheduling: Coordinate scheduling of cases with other patient examinations.
* Work Environment: Maintain a sterile work area and adequate supply levels.
* Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance tasks, including calibration and adjustment of equipment.
* Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels under the guidance of a supervisor.
* Staff Training: Provide education to staff on diagnostic sonography techniques.
* Patient Safety: Adhere to patient safety policies and protocols, proactively identifying and reporting any potential risks.

Qualifications:
Education:
* Program Graduate in Ultrasonography from a CAAHEP Accredited Institution (AMA)

Experience:
* Essential: Relevant experience in OB/GYN and/or MFM settings preferred.

Credentials:
* Current CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers certification within 30 days.
* Valid Driver's License and Vehicle Operator's Permit within specified timeframes.
* ARDMS or equivalent certification in Ultrasound Technology.
* NM Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy License (NMMIRT).
* ARDMS certification in Fetal Echocardiography within 26 months of employment.

Physical Requirements:
Medium Work: Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions:
* Moderate exposure to chemicals and hazardous materials.
* Subject to random alcohol and substance testing.
* May be required to perform on-call duties.
