Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Classroom Teacher to join our team at UMOS. As a Classroom Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for children aged 0-5. Your primary focus will be on implementing the Creative Curriculum System, UMOS School Readiness Plan, and the Head Start Early Learning Outcome Framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily activity plans, field trips, and transition activities that promote children's cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Conduct regular home visits and parent/teacher conferences to ensure effective communication with parents and caregivers.
  • Administer and track child developmental screenings and assessments to inform individualized plans and lesson planning.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of children's progress, including child roster/absentee list, meal count, classroom child file, case notes, developmental screenings, and assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Infant and Toddler CDA (Infant and Toddler classroom only) or equivalent.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and internet.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with adequate car insurance.
  • Ability to work flexible and/or irregular hours with some travel.
Work Environment

Our work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality care and education to children. As a Classroom Teacher, you will be required to stand, walk, sit, and bend frequently, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. You will also be exposed to moderate temperature and noise levels.

Additional Requirements
  • Criminal background check prior to employment.
  • Physical exam and TB screening test showing absence of Tuberculosis within 30 days of employment or sooner if required by local/state regulation.
  • Complete SIDS & Shaken Baby Training prior to working with children.
  • Fire Extinguisher Training.
  • Proof of certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid within 30 days or sooner if required by local/state regulation.
  • Register in the State Childcare registry.
