As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide essential nursing care by executing assigned responsibilities and services aimed at delivering high-quality resident care. You will adhere to established standards, regulations from the Department of Health and Senior Services, and Applewood policies and procedures.
Compensation: Rates vary based on experience, ranging from $31/hr. to $37/hr. plus applicable shift differentials.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver compassionate and respectful care tailored to the individual needs of residents, ensuring their rights to make informed decisions regarding their medical treatment.
- Exhibit the ability to gather and interpret information relevant to the age and needs of the residents under your care.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of growth, development, and adult health throughout the lifespan, completing necessary educational requirements.
- Execute all scheduled and assigned tasks while continuously monitoring resident needs and delegating care components to appropriate caregivers.
- Implement fundamental nursing care and assist residents with daily living activities.
- Collect resident data accurately using technical skills under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Make informed decisions reflecting nursing knowledge and exercise sound judgment in clinical and resident care scenarios.
- Participate in the preparation and execution of diagnostic or therapeutic care for residents.
- Ensure accountability for the administration, observation, documentation, and reporting of medications and treatments in a safe and precise manner.
- Administer medications in accordance with Applewood policies and manufacturers' guidelines.
- Identify adverse reactions to medications and respond appropriately and promptly.
- Adhere to policies regarding restraint application, documentation, and observation.
- Involve residents and their families in developing personalized care plans.
- Conduct pain assessments and notify the RN of any reports of pain or discomfort, providing appropriate non-pharmacologic interventions as directed.
- Document pain assessments, interventions, and follow-ups accurately.
- Notify physicians regarding unrelieved pain as necessary.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited program for licensed practical nurses and possess a valid license to practice in New Jersey.
- Previous experience as an LPN is preferred.
- Current LPN license in New Jersey is required.
- BLS certification is mandatory.
- Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all members of the healthcare team.
