Position Overview

The Neurodiagnostic Technician is responsible for capturing and recording electrical activity from the brain and central nervous system, which will be analyzed by neurologists to identify neurological disorders or contribute to neuropsychological studies. This role requires the application of precise techniques to ensure accurate data collection and effective reporting of results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize appropriate methods to gather precise readings and document findings. Must possess the ability to mitigate electrical and mechanical disturbances while interpreting various brainwave patterns.
  • Monitor and log data on analytical equipment, providing test results to physicians for further evaluation.
  • Apply electrodes to various areas of the patient's body as dictated by the EEG protocol, and gather comprehensive medical histories related to neurological conditions, including but not limited to epilepsy and sleep disorders.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain electroencephalography (EEG) equipment.
  • Adhere to established Standards of Care, Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics, and organizational Policies and Procedures. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agency guidelines at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Stay informed and proficient in the scientific knowledge and clinical skills necessary for fulfilling the duties of the role.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Educational Qualifications

Minimum: Successful completion of an accredited Respiratory Care Program. Certification or registration with The National Board of Respiratory Care and licensure in the state of Indiana is required.

Experience Qualifications

Preferred: Familiarity with EEG procedures and Pulmonary Testing methodologies.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Minimum: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
