Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dialysis Nurse to join our team at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. As a Dialysis Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to physicians
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and technologies
Requirements
  • WI RN License and BLS certification
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in dialysis nursing
  • Previous experience in inpatient dialysis settings required
  • Prior experience with CRRT and Peritoneal Dialysis required
  • Trauma level II experience highly preferred
Work Schedule

Shifts are variable, with 6, 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts available. Start times are flexible, with some shifts starting as early as 5:00 am and others as late as 7:30 pm. Every other weekend and holiday are required, with possible call 1-2 times per week as needed.

Unit Overview

Inpatient dialysis units have a patient ratio of 1:4 with a dialysis tech, or 1:1 in ICU/COVID units. Outpatient dialysis units have a patient ratio of 1:8.
