Key Responsibilities:

Full-Time: 40 Hours/Week at JCC Association; year-round role

Position eligible for a $1500 sign-on incentive: $1,000 after initial two weeks of service and an additional $500 after six months of tenure.

Role Overview: The primary responsibilities of the Education Support Specialist include partnering with the Lead Educator to design weekly educational plans; collaborating with the home base team to execute and assess classroom activities; ensuring the physical safety and well-being of the children; maintaining the classroom environment, educational materials, and resources; and contributing to the overall functionality of the Early Childhood Program.

Essential Qualifications:

General Duties:
  • Work alongside the Lead Educator to foster a nurturing atmosphere where every child feels valued and secure.
  • Comply with NAEYC and Keystone STARS standards.
  • Follow the guidelines outlined in the JCC Early Childhood Program Handbook regarding:
    • Adhering to DHS regulations.
    • Engaging with families.
    • Maintaining facility and equipment.
    • Record-keeping.
    • Curriculum development.
    • Health and safety protocols.
    • Team collaboration.
  • Participate in regular meetings for your teaching team, the Early Childhood Program, and the JCC.
  • Perform additional tasks as required or assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma, along with 15 credits in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Human Resources, or a related field, plus one year of experience working with children; OR
  • High school equivalent with 30 credits in the aforementioned fields; OR
  • High School equivalent with two years of experience working with young children.
  • Vision.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
  • Capability to meet the physical demands of child caregiving.
Compensation:

$25,000 - $35,000
