Parkhurst Dining is a family-owned and operated company that provides culinary, dining and catering services to over 80 organizations and universities. Our commitment to sustainability is rooted in our mission to make a positive impact on the environment and the communities we serve.

We are seeking a Sustainability Intern to assist us in advancing our campus-wide sustainability initiatives. This role will play a key part in helping us achieve our goals of reducing waste, increasing transparency, and building relationships between students and food service staff.

  1. Work closely with our management team to identify opportunities to improve our standard operating procedures and reduce our environmental footprint.
  2. Actively promote food waste reduction and compostable collection for all dining facilities.
  3. Collaborate with our social media intern to develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage our customers and promote our sustainability initiatives.
  4. Assist with organizing and communicating local and sustainable luncheons or dinners as part of our sustainable development goals integration.

Prior experience with social media, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work are essential for this role. In addition, strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Outlook, and Access are required.
