Genesis HealthCare System is in search of a committed and proficient OBGYN Hospitalist to enhance our exceptional healthcare team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services to our patients. Your duties will encompass inpatient care and triage, overseeing labor progression, conducting deliveries, executing surgical procedures when necessary, managing emergency consultations for obstetric and gynecologic patients, and ensuring the health and safety of both mother and child.

Position Overview:

  • Average of 156 hours monthly; 12-hour shifts
  • Level 2 nursery available
  • Facility averages 1,500 births annually
  • Support from 7 OBGYN physicians along with additional NP/PA staff for inpatient and outpatient services
  • Equipped with two Xi Da Vinci Robots
  • Community hospital with 260 beds
  • Medical staff comprising over 300 providers

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Address obstetric emergencies and provide timely interventions during labor and delivery.
  2. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including prenatal, postpartum, and gynecologic evaluations.
  3. Perform deliveries, including both vaginal and cesarean sections, and provide immediate postpartum care.
  4. Manage assigned and unassigned Emergency Department calls for GYN and OB patients.
  5. Conduct urgent and emergent gynecology consultations, including surgical interventions for hospitalized patients.
  6. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, midwives, and anesthesiologists, to ensure holistic patient care.
  7. Engage in patient education concerning prenatal and postpartum care, family planning, and general women's health.
  8. Respond swiftly to obstetric and gynecologic consultations, contributing to a collaborative approach to patient care.
  9. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
  10. Stay informed on the latest advancements in obstetric and gynecologic medicine through ongoing education and professional development.

Qualifications:

  1. Medical degree from an accredited institution and completion of an OBGYN residency program.
  2. Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  3. Valid Ohio state medical license and privileges to practice Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  4. Demonstrated experience in managing labor and delivery, including proficiency in both vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
  5. Proven excellence in gynecological care, including surgical procedures.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a diverse healthcare team.
  7. Dedication to patient-centered care and evidence-based practices.
  8. Willingness to participate in on-call duties and adapt to flexible working hours as necessary.
