Job Summary

Juniata College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach to lead our tennis programs to success. As a key member of our Athletics Department, you will be responsible for recruiting, scheduling, budget management, practice and instruction, hiring and management of assistant coaches, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and Retention: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent, ensuring a strong and competitive team.
  • Program Management: Oversee all aspects of the tennis program, including budget management, scheduling, and practice and instruction.
  • Coaching and Development: Provide vision and leadership to the team, developing and implementing specific training and skill development programs to enhance player performance.
  • Communication and Representation: Serve as a spokesperson for the program and the college, representing Juniata College in a positive and professional manner.
  • Team Culture and Welfare: Foster a positive team culture that prioritizes the welfare of student-athletes, academic excellence, citizenship, and competitive success.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
  • Experience: Three to five years of collegiate coaching and/or playing experience, with a strong understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Leadership and Management: Demonstrated ability to teach, strategize, recruit, lead, manage, represent, and oversee a nationally competitive athletic program.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
