JOB SUMMARY:

As a Flight Test Pilot, you will be responsible for executing assigned flight tests and collaborating with Engineering on the development, certification, and introduction of new or modified aircraft. Some travel may be required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Engage in technical discussions concerning the design of aircraft, systems, and installed equipment to ensure compliance with certification standards and customer expectations.
  2. Assist in defining, scheduling, and planning flight tests for product development and certification.
  3. Conduct flight testing aimed at developing products that align with customer needs and demonstrating adherence to certification criteria.
  4. Document and report flight testing outcomes, coordinating with relevant teams to address any product deficiencies.
  5. Review and endorse test plans, reports, and other documentation related to flight testing activities.
  6. Provide management with insights and suggestions for continuous product and process improvements.
  7. Support other Cessna Flight Departments as necessary.
  8. Comply with and advocate for Flight Operations policies, procedures, guidelines, and responsibilities.
  9. Ensure effective communication with department personnel regarding significant issues.
  10. Prioritize safety in all operations at all times.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
  • FAA Commercial Single and Multi-engine ratings are mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2,500 hours of total pilot time, including 500 hours of multi-engine time and 1,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
  • At least 2 years of experience in engineering, flight testing, piloting, or related technical roles is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to obtain a valid US Passport.
  • Willingness to support off-site travel for development and certification flight testing.
  • FAA First Class Medical certification is required or the ability to obtain it.
  • Preferred candidates will have UM/DER FAA status or express interest in achieving it.
