About the Role:

The University of New Mexico - Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team in the Emergency Room. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support to patients in emergency situations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care assignments, triage emergency care, stabilize and/or prepare patients for transport, and document all patient care activities.
  • Perform peripheral venous puncture, blood draws, and IV fluid therapy and drug administration.
  • Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, topical application or sublingual administration of medications, and provide for nebulized drug administration.
  • Monitor and stock supply areas; maintain equipment as appropriate.
  • Participate in department quality programs and attend education sessions, department, and other meetings as required.

Requirements:

  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
  • Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic License
  • No minimum experience required

Working Conditions:

This position requires heavy work exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
