Position Summary:

The Culinary Specialist is responsible for preparing and cooking meals in accordance with established menus and dietary guidelines, focusing on large-scale food production. This role is essential in providing nutritious meals for residents within the facility.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Set up dining areas appropriately for meal service and deliver food and beverages to residents in the dining room and on meal trays.
  • Prepare breakfast and lunch items for residents and guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, cleaning prep areas, and ensuring equipment is sanitized.
  • Receive and store food deliveries efficiently.
  • Portion meals in accordance with nutritional standards and dietary requirements.
  • Prepare ready-to-serve food items for the nutrition center.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is necessary.
  • Food Safety certification is highly recommended.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Intermediate computer skills are required.
  • Ability to read and execute large-scale recipes effectively.
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment is important.
  • Understanding of sanitation standards and various dietary needs is crucial.
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
