Avera is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist-Genetics to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory, you will perform DNA and molecular genetic testing in clinical and research settings.

About the Role:

  • We offer a competitive salary range of $27.50 - $41.50 per hour, depending on experience.
  • The hourly rate may be higher or lower based on your qualifications and background.

Your Responsibilities:

You will utilize scientific principles, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills to perform day-to-day laboratory operations. This includes quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance, test result correlation, and clinical laboratory-related continuing education.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, biological science, molecular biology, or a related field from a regionally accredited college/university is required.
  • Certification as Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Molecular Biology (MB) from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent agency as appropriate is required within 18 months of hire.
