About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees
  • Perform all duties assigned consistent with New York Methodist Hospital's commitment to providing quality health care services in a compassionate and humane manner
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across all areas of the Hospital to ensure a seamless and efficient service
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide support as needed
  • Conduct regular patrols of the Hospital premises to identify and mitigate potential security risks
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 8 & 16 Hour Security Courses
  • NYS Security License
  • Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 90 days of starting in role and continued BCLS certification required every two years
  • Must be able to write and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and visitors
  • Basic computer literacy
Preferred Criteria
  • One year security experience within a hospital or related medical setting
  • Valid driver's license
