Job Overview:
The individual in this role is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment within educational facilities.
Qualifications:
1. A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
2. Candidates must either have prior experience in this role or successfully complete the state-mandated examination for this position.
3. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
4. Physical capability to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting and moving objects.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance.
2. Capacity to rearrange furniture and equipment regularly.
3. Competence to work safely at heights using ladders.
4. Ability to perform tasks that involve bending, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, pulling, and pushing.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, and buffing assigned areas.
2. Ensure all plumbing fixtures and drinking fountains are cleaned and sanitized daily.
3. Remove waste and trash from designated areas on a daily basis.
4. Vacuum carpeted spaces and assist with wet cleaning as necessary.
5. Maintain the exterior grounds by sweeping sidewalks, cutting grass, and removing debris.
6. Clean windows and wax floors as required.
7. Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to the supervising authority.
8. Conserve energy by ensuring unnecessary lights are turned off.
9. Uphold positive work habits and productivity.
10. Continuously develop and enhance job-related skills.
11. Execute additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
12. Foster a safe working environment at all times.
13. Acknowledge and adhere to the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
