Job Overview

The Macon Housing Authority is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team. This role will involve analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

About the Role
  • Analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and documenting business transactions.
  • Post monthly journal transactions utilizing accounting software.

Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, plus excellent benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Review general ledger transactions, trail balance, and subsidiary ledgers to ensure accuracy in reporting and application of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile accounting system general ledger to the external HUD reimbursement system.
  • Compile and submit financial data or information to internal and external auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Two to three years of work experience, preferably in general ledger or governmental accounting.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP, and GASB policies and procedures.
