Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team at Sonic Healthcare USA, Inc. As a vital part of our patient care process, you will examine prepared slides with a microscope to detect evidence of abnormalities and report findings to pathologists for final diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality microscopic examinations to detect abnormalities in patient samples
  • Report negative Pap Test cases and refer abnormal cases to pathologists for review
  • May read Non-GYN specimens and report findings to pathologists for final diagnosis
  • Document examination results and hours spent examining slides in a 24-hour period
  • Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and champion safety, compliance, and quality control
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of cytology
  • Cytotechnologist certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists
  • Critical thinking, complex problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to operate general laboratory equipment and have basic computer skills
