Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our crisis care team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in delivering care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. You will collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
Essential Job Functions- Patient Assessment and Documentation: Assess patients and document pertinent information, completing physical and mental health assessments.
- Medication Administration: Perform medication administration as per facility protocol, accurately recording all medication as administered.
- Behavioral and Medical Monitoring: Assess, document, and report behavioral and medical changes.
- Treatment Planning: Participate in patient treatment planning as part of the multi-disciplinary clinical team.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on diagnosis, treatment, and medications.
- De-escalation Techniques: Use verbal de-escalation and therapeutic interventions to de-escalate patients that are potentially dangerous.
- Seclusion and Restraint Standards: Describe and demonstrate thorough knowledge of seclusion and restraint standards and guidelines, including documentation of seclusion and restraint incidents, as required.
- SafeClinch Standards: Describe and demonstrate thorough knowledge of SafeClinch standards and guidelines, as required.
- Care Documentation: Record all care provided concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, as per the facility protocol.
- Lab Draw and Wound Care: Draw labs and provide wound care as ordered.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
- Reporting Structure: This position reports to the Nurse Manager and Charge Nurse.
- Supervisory Functions: None.
- Minimum Qualifications: Graduated from an accredited Nursing program with Registered Professional Nurse licensure by the state Board of Nursing. Unrestricted license as Registered Professional Nurse through the state Board of Nursing. At least 1 year of psychiatric, behavioral health, or relevant experience. Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous crisis care or emergency room experience. Previous experience with state-specific court-ordered services. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Food Handlers Card desired or willingness to obtain.
