Job Summary

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the surgeon during surgical procedures, ensuring efficiency and safety in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify anatomy within the operative field and maintain positive customer relations with patients and medical staff.
  • Work under the supervision of the manager of the Surgical Assistants to ensure seamless execution of surgical procedures.
  • Demonstrate competency and possess the technical skills necessary for assigned cases, including extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Stand for long periods and maintain excellent eye-hand coordination to ensure precision and accuracy during procedures.
  • Exercise sound judgment and knowledge of scientific principles to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of college or specialty school in surgical assisting or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as excellent eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment and knowledge of scientific principles.
  • BLS certification and NH Med Tech License required.
Additional Information:
  • 36 hours per week, 3 12-hour days, 7a-7:30p.
  • 12 weeks of continuous work.
  • More than 1 year of travel assignments required.
  • Total Joint and/or Robotic surgery competence required.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist preferred.
