Job Summary:

This role will work with stakeholders across all lines of business and corporate functions data steward teams to further develop and strengthen the Sensitive Data Management (SDM) program within the enterprise.

The position will be responsible for identifying and managing existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.

Publishes, maintains, and/or interprets moderately complex Sensitive Data Governance (e.g. procedures and job aids).

Performs scanning of sensitive data elements within structured and unstructured data types using industry supported capabilities.

Recommends risk treatment options for technical projects and initiatives.

Executes repeatable methods and measurements to discover Sensitive Data risk and recommends improvements to the process.

Guides and assists process owners in the identification, development, and testing of Sensitive Data controls for risk mitigation effectiveness.

Responds both verbally and in writing to routine inquiries and periodic exams from all lines of defense partners (e.g. legal, compliance, audit, risk).

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in information security, data management or equivalent education and related training.

5 years of related experience in Sensitive Data Security, Information Security, Information Assurance, Risk Management, Audit and/or Information Technology to include accountability for complex tasks and/or projects.

Business acumen and business and social maturity; ability to meet officers of potential targets, promoting image and philosophy of Truist.

Strong communication skills, including writing skills, verbal communication skills and personal presentation skills; ability to create precise targeted communication that creates ease of understanding of complex issues.

Knowledge and demonstrated application of Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA), Data Management and Least Privilege Principles.

Knowledge of a wide range of security technologies, such as data discovery, database security, tokenization platforms, Data Leakage Prevention, data security posture management, Database Monitoring.

Ability to adhere strictly to deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with data scanning tools (e.g. PkWare, Cyera).

Background in sensitive data controls to protect PCI, PHI, PII and IP data or information security related fields.

Experience in Process Improvement, including identification of risk and controls used in IT Audit (IT General Controls, Control Execution, etc.).

Experience with SQL coding.

Working Conditions:

Sitting: Constantly (More than 50% of the time).

Standing: Occasionally (Less than 25% of the time).

Walking: Occasionally (Less than 25% of the time).

Bending: Occasionally (Less than 25% of the time).

Visual / Audio / Speaking: Able to access and interpret client information received from the computer and able to hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.

Manual Dexterity / Keyboarding: Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.

Availability: Able to work all hours scheduled, including overtime as directed by manager/supervisor and required by business need.

Travel: Minimal and up to 10%.
