Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Management: Interpret and transcribe medication orders, ensuring accurate and complete patient medication profiles.
  • Dispensing and Preparation: Fill package forms, prepare intravenous admixtures, and verify the work of technical support staff.
  • Therapeutic Monitoring: Monitor medication therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, and other potential issues.
  • Consultation and Education: Provide consultation and clarification to practitioners, suggesting appropriate therapeutic alternatives and promoting rational medication therapy selection.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct monthly inspections, review documentation, and verify the work of technical support staff to ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree from an accredited school of pharmacy, or successful completion of the foreign pharmacy equivalency exam and licensure as a registered pharmacist.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, thorough knowledge of policies and procedures, and ability to interact effectively with physicians, hospital staff, and other healthcare professionals.
