Key Responsibilities:

  • Therapy Services: Provide individualized speech and language therapy to students, creating and implementing tailored education programs (IEPs) to address their unique needs.
  • Evaluation and Assessment: Conduct thorough speech and language evaluations to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with educators, parents, and other school staff to ensure seamless communication and support for student development.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and record student progress, making necessary adjustments to interventions to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with the latest practices and advancements in speech-language pathology, applying this knowledge to enhance student services.

Requirements:

  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Current California State License in Speech-Language Pathology (issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board).
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Credentialing: California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential in Language, Speech, and Hearing (or eligibility for this credential).
  • Experience: Minimum 1+ years of experience in a school setting, with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
