UT Health San Antonio is seeking a highly skilled ICU Virtual Nurse to join our team. As a Virtual Nurse, you will provide real-time clinical decision support to patients, nurses, and the bedside team, utilizing the nursing process to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Communicate with patients and healthcare providers via video conferencing and technology.
- Conduct video monitoring and virtual assessments of patients to identify physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Participate in quality and patient safety surveillance, and provide education and support to patients and families.
- Document patient history, medication reconciliation, discharge planning, and complete discharge instructions with patients and families.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Five years of ICU experience, with prior experience in telemedicine preferred.
- Current Texas Board of Nursing (or Compact State) RN license or Temporary Texas RN License required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 60 days.
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within 90 days.
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred.
