Surgical Technologist Position

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Alexandria, Virginia.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to assist our surgical team in providing high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of surgical procedures, anatomy, and patient care concepts.
Responsibilities- Assist the surgical team in preparing the operating room, including setting up equipment and supplies.
- Provide scrub assistance during surgical procedures, demonstrating knowledge of anatomy and surgical techniques.
- Assist with patient positioning, confirmation of the operative site, and updating the physician preference card.
- Participate in room turnover and ensure the operating room is prepared for the next procedure.
- Collaborate with the circulating nurse to implement the perioperative plan of care.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- Recent hospital experience and/or previous practice experience preferred.
- Surgical Technologist registration via Commonwealth of Virginia at time of hire.
- BLS via AHA required.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) via NCCT preferred.
