Job Description:

L3 Harris Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and talented Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Test Engineer to join our EMI electrical design engineering core group.

We are currently hiring for entry-level test engineers interested in developing their technical expertise and leadership skills in a highly agile environment.

As a member of our team, you will be part of a diverse multi-disciplined team of engineers operating with the latest tools and methodologies to develop your technical competence and leadership skills.

The EMI Test Engineer will be responsible for developing procedures, reports, and executing various EMI and power quality test activities for a multitude of systems ranging from submersible to space platforms recognized around the world.

The EMI Test Engineer will also support niche fields related to Power Variation (MIL-STD-704), Multipaction, Corona Discharge, and TEMPEST on products being developed throughout L3 Harris Technologies.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop new solutions and grow as the next generation of EMI Test Engineers with a career path leading to the submittal of a candidacy for a position in the L3 Harris Technologies technical fellowship program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary job responsibilities will include:
    • Perform EMI Qualification test campaigns on cutting-edge programs
    • Coordinate test and verify EMI design requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects through the qualification and sustainment of various L3 Harris systems
    • Develop test procedures, and test reports
  • Other job responsibilities may include:
    • Perform EMI/EMC, DO-160, MIL-STD-704 Power Quality, HIRF, Lightning, RF co-site and antenna coupling testing
    • Apply EMI engineering technology experience to document and solve complex problems
    • Occasional travel will be required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or Engineering Physics Technology and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain US DoD Secret Security Clearance
  • Professional experience with electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding and filtering
  • Professional experience with RF and measurement instrumentation such as receivers, antennas, analyzers and amplifiers
  • Experience developing detailed test reports

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • US DoD Secret Security Clearance preferred
  • International Association for Radio Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) EMI/EMC engineer certification
