Job Overview

The Summer Program Staff at the Youth Centers of Orange will play a vital role in providing support to our youth during the summer camp. This position requires a passionate and mission-driven individual who can work effectively with children, educators, and other staff members.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee student activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all participants.
  • Supervise students during meals and snacks, maintaining a clean and organized space.
  • Instruct students in daily routines and cleanup tasks, promoting teamwork and responsibility.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, using effective communication skills and empathy.
  • Assist in planning and organizing student projects, arts and crafts, sports, and STEM activities.
  • Collaborate with Coordinators and Directors to provide high-quality programming and educational experiences.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required, adhering to YCO policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
  • First aid and CPR training and certification required.
  • Previous experience working with minors in an individual or group setting is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.

Compensation

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
