Position Overview:
This is an ongoing recruitment initiative aimed at identifying qualified candidates for future openings within the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration.

Compensation and Benefits:
VA provides a comprehensive rewards package, including:
- Salary: Competitive remuneration, annual performance bonuses, and regular salary adjustments.
- Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid leave annually, encompassing 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, and 11 paid Federal holidays, along with a potential 5-day paid absence for Continuing Medical Education (CME).

Licensure:
Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.

Continuing Medical Education:
Eligible for a reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year (full-time with board certification required).

Malpractice Coverage:
Liability protection with tail coverage is provided.

Role Responsibilities:
The Neurologist will be responsible for delivering comprehensive neurological services within the VA healthcare system, including:
- Providing direct, patient-centered care as outlined in clinical privileges for Neurology.
- Conducting thorough patient evaluations, including history taking, neurological assessments, and documentation of medical records.
- Integrating diagnostic study results (e.g., EMG, EEG) into differential diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Collaborating with specialists and Primary Care teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Prescribing medications in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Overseeing all aspects of neurologic care for assigned patients.
- Performing neurologic procedures, such as NCS/EMG and EEG interpretation, in line with individual training and expertise.
- Educating healthcare professionals and students on neurological disorders and treatments.
- Participating in inpatient and outpatient subspecialty duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:
Standard hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens are unavailable.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Completion of a pre-employment physical examination.
- Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is mandatory for all healthcare personnel.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements.

Qualifications:
To qualify, candidates must meet the basic requirements, including:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- A current, unrestricted medical license.
- Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program.
- Board Certification or eligibility in the relevant specialty.
