Job Summary

The Labor Registered Nurse is a critical member of the Maternal Child team at CommonSpirit Health, providing exceptional care to laboring patients and their families. This role requires a strong foundation in obstetric nursing, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage and care for laboring patients under the direction of the Maternal Child Manager/Director
  • Provide comprehensive care to ante-partum, post-partum/newborn, and post-gynecological patients
  • Employ critical thinking to integrate objective data with knowledge gained from an assessment of the subjective experiences of patients
  • Apply the best available evidence and research data to the processes of diagnosis and treatment
  • Continually evaluate quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and seek to optimize outcomes
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of the last 2 years recent experience as an RN in Labor and Delivery, or as an RN in an acute care setting and successful completion of applicable clinical and didactic SRDH specialty training program
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • RN = Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada
  • CT CPRBLS = AHA Basic Life Support-Nat'l
  • CT NRP = Neonatal Resuscitation-Nat'l
  • CT CPRACLS = Advanced Cardiac Life Support-Nat'l
  • CT EFM = Electronic Fetal Monitoring-Nat'l - within 6 months of hire
  • CT AFM = Advanced Fetal Monitoring; CPR - within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of the last 5 years recent experience as an RN in Labor and Delivery or equivalent in a setting with 100 births/month
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Certification in Specialty Area
