Job Summary

To prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring surgical equipment and instruments are properly functioning during surgical procedures. Provide basic surgical assistance to the surgical team, ensuring patient comfort and providing quality patient care. Ensure surgical equipment and instruments are sterilized in accordance with UMMC infection control and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and instruments are available and functioning properly.
  • Provide basic surgical assistance to the surgical team, including patient positioning, draping, and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Ensure surgical equipment and instruments are sterilized in accordance with UMMC infection control and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and equipment maintenance.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
  • Knowledge of surgical techniques and equipment.
  • Understanding of UMMC infection control and regulatory sterilization standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
