Piping Designer, Senior Job Description

The successful candidate will perform key tasks associated with designing Piping equipment, components, structures, or systems. Key responsibilities include preparing complete design packages, including preliminary, conceptual, and construction deliverables, as well as engineering calculations. The ideal candidate will also prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs, and working drawings, including necessary projections, sectional views, and standard specifications. Additionally, they will interpret verbal or written direction to initiate a preliminary design, check detailed sketches and drawings for project applicability and optimal construction, and prepare parts lists, procurement lists, bills of material (BOM), and specifications when drawings are complete.

Key Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required
  2. Associate's Degree from a Technical Institution preferred
  3. 15+ years of experience preferred
  4. AutoCAD software experience required
  5. CADWorx and PDMS software experience preferred
  6. Microsoft Office software experience preferred
  7. Field experience required
  8. Experience in offshore oil gas, onshore gas processing, hydrocarbon storage and transportation, chemical manufacturing, or refining industry required
  9. Small project lead experience required
  10. Medium/Large project lead experience preferred
