Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team at HCA HealthONE Rose. As an integral member of our medical staff, you will provide exceptional care to patients with cancer and hematological disorders.

About the Role

This full-time position involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with departmental requirements and state nursing standards. You will assess patients' conditions, perform procedures as ordered by medical providers, and ensure thorough documentation of care administration.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice
