Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Functions:
    • Coordinate the schedule of a shipping company or a group of drivers.
    • Ensure that data related to deliveries and shipments of freight are entered timely into tracking software.
    • Manage customer service satisfaction by providing updates on ETA and location of drivers.
    • Obtain back-haul freight and dispatch OTR drivers.
    • Direct inbound and outbound logistics operations, such as transportation and warehouse activities, safety performance, and logistics quality management.
    • Negotiate and arrange transport of goods with shipping or freight companies.
    • Determine method of shipment and prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents.
    • Track delivery progress of shipments.
    • Manage the zoning of driver dispatches to ensure they are cost-effective routes.
    • Develop a proactive relationship with our customers by providing first-class customer service and communication.
    • Handle shipment quoting/pricing for customers.
    • Cover available shipments through strategic negotiations with trucking companies.
    • Provide problem-resolution effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Administrative Functions:
    • Keep records of all goods shipped, received, and stored.
    • Manage and track detention times accurately per shipment.
    • Send and collect documents to and from carriers.
    • Data entry of various files and information into our software.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excel both as an individual and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Professional, driven, and results-oriented.
  • LTL, Local, and Linehaul Knowledge.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Deadline-driven thorough knowledge of the LTL and Linehaul.
  • Works well with team and alone.
  • Strong Knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area.
