Position Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient movement of goods, including the shipping, receiving, and handling of materials. This role is essential in ensuring that all logistical operations are conducted in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure regular and reliable attendance on-site.
  • Operate various transportation equipment safely and effectively.
  • Execute assigned responsibilities competently and safely.
  • Manage the positioning of loaded and empty vehicles for the loading and unloading of materials.
  • Weigh and document inbound and outbound shipments accurately.
  • Coordinate the movement of trailers into and out of loading areas.
  • Prepare materials for shipment, including packaging and labeling in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Handle the receipt and movement of materials to and from storage and production areas efficiently.
  • Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records using tracking systems.
  • Conduct rail operations, including the transfer of materials and communication with relevant personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Work flexible hours and be available for overtime as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with inventory management and documentation.
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement in operational processes.
  • Participate in safety training and initiatives.
