Position Summary

Rothman Orthopaedics is seeking a dedicated Patient Registration Specialist to enhance our team. The Patient Registration Specialist plays a crucial role in the precise gathering of patient demographic data to ensure smooth registration processes before patient appointments. This role is primarily remote, with a requirement for initial training at our designated training facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Confirm all new patient appointments from the daily schedule for assigned locations and providers.
  • Verify insurance benefits, including referral requirements and copay details, for each patient visit.
  • Review schedules to ensure complete information for all follow-up appointments.
  • Accurately capture demographic information for upcoming appointments and confirm insurance coverage one day prior.
  • Assist fellow registration staff as needed across all sites utilizing the Pre-Registration system.
  • Maintain communication with front desk personnel, utilizing appropriate alerts or comments in the EMR system.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls to assist patients and insurance providers.
  • Embody the core values and culture of the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in patient registration.
  • General knowledge of medical insurance and benefits is essential.
  • Experience with EMR systems and navigating insurance portals is required.
  • Current Rothman employees must meet specific performance metrics without attendance issues for the past six months.
  • Current Rothman employees must have been in their position for a minimum of one year.
