Job Overview

The Senior Logistics Analyst plays a pivotal role in devising logistics strategies that enhance operational efficiency and resource utilization across the network. Collaborating closely with Operations and IT departments, the Senior Logistics Analyst will interpret and implement business protocols while identifying opportunities that contribute to cost reduction initiatives. Additional data analysis will be conducted as required by the logistics team, necessitating effective database management.

Key Responsibilities


• Oversee payments to third-party logistics providers, including requisition entries and the coordination of purchase orders to invoice processing.

• Gather and evaluate logistics freight expenses for the North American division - Manage and compile monthly financial logistics reports.

• Review and authorize freight invoices that have been disputed by the third-party freight payment service.

• Assess contract carrier freight rates to pinpoint cost-saving opportunities and maintain contract rates within the transportation management system.

• Collaborate with third-party logistics providers to generate essential weekly and quarterly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

• Identify and spearhead initiatives aimed at cost reduction, efficiency enhancement, and the establishment of resilient supply chains. Monitor cost savings, avoidance, and team performance.

• Lead projects with carriers, third-party logistics providers, and non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOs) to improve communication, streamline processes, and lower costs.

• Develop and manage RFx processes and activities, along with spot rate quotations for designated transportation modes.

• Provide support for MIT Planners/Schedulers and Logistics Analysts as needed to ensure seamless planning, shipping, and invoicing of shipments.

• Regularly engage with procurement, supply chain, and warehousing teams to promote continuous improvement and identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Recognized as a subject matter expert in assigned transportation modes, serving as an internal consultant for Logistics Analysts and other stakeholders.

• Supervise a small team (if assigned) of 1-3 personnel.

Qualifications


Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or a related field.

Experience: 5-7 years of experience in logistics or transportation is essential. Additional experience in sourcing, operations, or supply chain management is highly desirable.

Travel: Up to 25% travel may be required.

• Comprehensive understanding of transportation modes, supply chain, and logistics principles.

• Proficient negotiation skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to leverage data for informed business decisions.

• Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize necessary tools effectively.

• Capability to adhere to established processes and standard operating procedures.

• Experience with SAP TM is strongly preferred.
