Job Title: Pharmacy Director

The University of Virginia seeks a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Director to lead its Oncology Infusion and Investigational Drug Services. This is a new leadership position that will support the current and future growth of oncology, infusion, and investigational drug services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee pharmacy managers of oncology and infusion pharmacy teams, pharmacy infusion processes and strategy, IDS pharmacists, committees, and other interdisciplinary groups involving pharmacy.
  • Collaborate with the acute care and infusion pharmacy leadership team, service line leadership, nursing, and medical leadership in support of optimal patient care.
  • Coordinate all oncology and infusion pharmacy services and programs.
  • Develop and lead proactive implementation of best practices, technology, and automation to support pharmacy clinical operations.
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures related to pharmacy operations, applicable pharmacy accreditation standards, and compliance with federal and state rules and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Pharmacy degree required (Masters and/or Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Minimum 3 years progressive experience in pharmacy practice and pharmacy management.
  • Licensed to practice as a Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Physical Demands:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
